“Kensho”, the Syriac word for “the gathering”, is a major annual event for the St. Mary's Jacobite Syrian Orthodox Church in Kolkata before every Christmas. Kensho 2011 was held on Sunday, the 11th December immediately after the Holy Qurbono in the Parish. The programme was organised by the Sunday School team with the active support of few younger members of the Parish and it started with the lighting of the traditional lamp by the Vicar, Vice Presidents of the Managing Committee & Vanita Samajam, a youth member and a child from the Sunday School followed by a dance programme by the Sunday School girls.
